I have travelled a lot, owned my own B&B and I can honestly say that I was humbled by the attention to detail and design of Fonte Martino. Every single thing was thought out and placed perfectly...I have never experienced anything like it. The setting is exquisite, looking over the rolling hills to Montepulciano, at the end of a quiet road which had a family of deer frolicking in the olive groves. From our stormy arrival to our stormy departure, we enjoyed every minute in comfort and understated luxury. Our hosts were attentive and full of information, and the breakfast...well, even my husband couldn't eat all of the deliciousness. Town is a short drive away with several excellent restaurants, but we still couldn't wait to get back to our suite. I have never seen my husband so relaxed, and there were more than enough quiet spots for me to unwind with a book. We truly can't wait to come back. Thank you for everything Toby and David!! The best place I've ever stayed I don't write the title of this review lightly as I've been lucky enough to stay in some amazing hotels,... read moreI don't write the title of this review lightly as I've been lucky enough to stay in some amazing hotels, B&B's and guesthouses from all over the world in my time but what David and Toby have created here at the Fonte Martino is nothing short of breathtaking.

You can see from the design and detail of the place and from talking to them that they have truly put all of their passion into making this Guesthouse a wonderful place to stay.

The rooms are extremely spacious, clean and filled with mod cons yet have a warm homely feel about them. The outdoor areas also have that modern but homely feel and the place oozes character whilst keeping you relaxed.

Upon check in I was a little earlier than I had communicated but this was not a problem for David and Toby and they gave me a warm welcome. I was shown around the property and then left to relax with a complimentary beer. The breakfast made by Toby each morning has a variety of cooked foods, meats, cheeses, pastries, yogurts and cereal. Everything I had was delicious, the cinnamon rolls were a particular delight which I mentioned to them both and when I returned later that day they had left a couple of extra ones in my room! They both greet you like you are family and talk about the day ahead and your plans - all these nice little personal touches make the experience extra special.

Communicating with the guys before arriving they kindly booked dinner for me in Montepulciano for both nights and didn't hesitate to help when I asked one to be changed. They both know the area and restaurants extremely well and can give you many recommendations.

You will definitely need a car to stay here, I did the walk into Montepulciano one night as I had driven all day and whilst pleasant going past the nearby vineyards it took around 35 minutes with some hills included which could prove difficult for some. Driving into Montepulciano is quick and easy from the property though and David and Toby can happily recommend the best car parks to use.

Overall I had a fantastic stay at this mind-blowingly beautiful property with superb and conscientious hosts... and I've not even mentioned the views which deserve their own review!

If you ever go to the beautiful town of Montepulciano, make the Fonte Martino your number one place to stay. read less

We have already recommended this place to people it’s a hidden gem, the specification and attention to detail was exceptional. The place was immaculate and the best products and brands of everything. Toby and David are so great and genuine. They also helped us out when we got into a difficult situation after we left. Will definitely return, this place tops some resorts that are world renowned. We hebben een paar nachten doorgebracht wat een feest op zich was. Prachtige vergezichten en een zeer comfortabele accommodatie. David en Toby bezorgen je een paar fantastische dagen waarbij niets teveel is. Adviseren je de beste en mooiste plekjes in Toscane en Umbrië. Zij weten in ieder geval wat de hemel op aarde is.

The amazing view and surroundings, the quietness. All the comforts and luxury of the room. And then at the heart of Tuscany with so much possibilities for culture food and wine.
