There are countless wineries in Montepulciano and Montalcino.  Montepulciano is home to the noblest of wines – Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Montalcino is home to the famed Brunello.

One of Tuscany’s most renowned wines, Vino Nobile was the first DOCG wine in all of Italy. According to DOCG rules, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano must only come from vineyards which surround Montepulciano. The red wine must be aged for a minimum of 2 years – one of which must be in oak barrels, and to be labeled a riserva, the wine must be aged for a total of 3 years.
