Imagine being transported back in time to a magical Christmas Village where you can visit Santa in his castle, cobblestone streets decorated with festive lights that twinkle along with the holiday music, and the amazing smell of roasted chestnuts filling the air. This magical place is Montepulciano, Italy and from November 18, 2017 until January 7, 2018, there are non-stop festivities to celebrate the season. Piazza Grande has been transformed into a joyful Christmas Village with more than 80 vendors. The artisans are carefully chosen and feature wonderful gift items including hand-crafted ornaments, clothing, leather goods, food items, and sweets. Stroll through the Christmas Village while sipping hot mulled wine where you can be sure to find many amazing items for those special people in your life!
Not far from the Christmas Village, the Medieval Fortress in Montepulciano has been magically transformed into Santa Claus’ Castle. This is a Christmas dream where every child can wander along a path through the castle filled with twinkling Christmas lights. Children can participate in festive activities and enjoy cheerful entertainment, including interactive shows. And just when you think it can’t be any better, children can speak with none other than Santa Claus himself! What better way to let him know what you want for Christmas than by telling him directly!
Let’s not forget about all of the other events and attractions. There is the ice skating rink where both experienced and novice skaters can enjoy ice skating to cheerful holiday music. For the adventurous kids, you can ride a miniature pony and have your photo taken. For the less adventurous, ride the Carousel where you can relax and listen to melodies of Christmas music while sipping Cioccolata Calda – Italian Hot Chocolate. Finally, don’t forget to enjoy one of the many holiday music concerts, Christmas carolers, and spontaneous marching bands while shopping in the Christmas Village.
